Hi everyone! I'm another newbie that has happened on to this wonderfully supportive and informative board. My name is Jen, I'm 27 and live in Eastern PA. Here is my little story . .

on June 29th, 2008 I went in to the ER for what I thought may have been a tick bite on my stomach. I also noted that I had had cramping in my lower right leg. The ER Dr decided the 'bite' was nothing more than dermatitis but was concerned about my leg. The following Monday I had a doppler done on both legs ...

A long read but there are no other ways to do it, you can not condense this.

The begining, why me???

To start off, some may know me as dero or Denis, I'm a 47 year old male, in pretty good physical shape and yes, this past july (2007) for no apparent reasons I have develloped a blood clot in my right leg. Two weeks prior to this, I suffered a gastrocnemius strain (diagnosed at a sport clinic) due to a hyperextension of my right calf and other muscles( my Dr. at the TAT unit ASSURED ...

Hi everyone,

I am sad to be here, yet happy to find you!

Newly diagnosed, my story/diary (from Fri. to now) is this:

I'm 41, looking and feeling healthy and vibrant. I woke up one day to pain in the back of my lower right leg. It felt like pain throughout my leg, and at the time I couldn't tell exactly where it was coming from. But I wrote it off to having slept on it wrong, or perhaps bizarrely pulling a muscle in my sleep. I carried on with life, although I babied my leg ...

Mesenteric venous thrombosis (also known as visceral venous thrombosis) is a rare but lethal form of mesenteric ischemia. Antonio Hodgson first described mesenteric ischemia in the latter part of the 15th century. In 1895, Elliot first described mesenteric venous thrombosis as a cause of mesenteric ischemia. I'm reluctant to talk about it too because I don't want to seem like I'm constantly whining or self-absorbed.
Hello, I'm a DVT survivor and I would like to meet others who have had DVT's as a result of May-Thurner Syndrome, otherwise known as IVCS (Iliac Vein Compression Syndrome). Post a message on this forum and we'll try to arrange a time to chat, possibly after the Christmas holidays since this is such a busy time for all. My DVT was in November 2004 so I am three years into recovery with a Boston Scientific Wallstent in my Iliac vein (if that sounds familiar to anyone).

Introducing myself as the new guy on the block

Hello everyone.

I had my DVT as a result of a ruptured thoracic aortic aneurysm in 95, which caused me to be laid up in a bed for a couple of months with no activity. They removed the clot and implanted a Greenfield filter or IVC into me. I've since gone on to yet another open heart surgery to replace the aortic valve. I come to you from www.valvereplacement.com and I'm a friend of Al Lodwick from www.warfarinfo.com . I'm not a doctor, but I am a self doser and self tester of Coumadin and ...

DVT Rollercoaster

Just got checked for new DVT in groin and abdomen. Thank God it was negative. Pain is still there and don't know why. Have woken up my husband for last 2 nights coughing (w/ no cold or flu) and had an entire day of heart palpatations on Sunday, so got it checked out. Once there has been a hypercoaguable state where nothing stopped the clotting, it is hard not to think every burning pain isn't another DVT.

Swelling and knee pains?

I was diagnosed with DVT three weeks ago..pretty sure I developed it about 2 weeks prior to going to the doctor, and have been swollen now from calf down for about four weeks. How long does it usually take for swelling to go away completely? The pain in my leg is almost completely gone now and I'm able to stand straight up again. I really wanted to have an enjoyable summer, but unfortunately I cannot walk too long of distances or lengths of time (as I'm sure somebody would know what that's like) ...
