FDA approved additional changes to the Ortho Evra Contraceptive Patch label to include the results of a new study that found that users of the birth control patch were at higher risk of developing serious blood clots, also known as venous thromboembolism (VTE), than women using birth control pills.

I guess rather than pull it from the market - and there are many lawsuits by women who developed DVT, or passed away using the patch, or reducing the 60 percent higher amount of estrogen the patch contains over the pill, it's easier for them to put a label on the box
