Hi - I'm new on here.. Wanted to post my story in a nutshell... I'm currently 28 and was diagnosed with my first DVT at the age of 24 (6 months Coumadin till cleared), at the age of 28 I was diagnosed with a PE (Coumadin for life), and a couple of months (9 months) later another DVT appeared on my calve (turns out the Coumadin isn't working on me). Also, It turns out I have both genes mutated and will most likely be on Lovenox for life. I'm so glad I found this forum as it contains lots of information that answers many of my questions, though I still have many unanswered I'll be looking forward to asking away on here, maybe some of you can help me with answers.

Hey Richie,

Can you tell us about your experiences with Lovenox? How has your treatment been going so far?

I took Lovenox for approximately a month after my 2nd DVT. The side effects were very noticeable; the areas where I had the shots became severely bruised to the point where I ran out of ''space'' to actually give myself the injections. Insurance was also a problem since lovenux is on the expensive side and our insurance didn't want to keep paying for it (although that was almost 10 years ago, things might have changed).

Anyway, I'm interested in any info you might want to share with us. Thanks!
